For the New Year 2010 i was greeted by a Submarine on Track that the Big Monster dun want to surface up after an hour of waiting and line snapped due to rough ground. Me and My Rod. Another waiting game for more bait fish to be loaded to our big game Arsenal.At least Rizan caught Puffer fish on his light tackle using Apollo rig.Abang Salleh and Din joined us that day and Abang Salleh fishing gear.

Queen Fish at CP 7.

Another one bite the dust Rizan again this time got Queen Fish around 4kg at CP 7. Rig he using that day Single Hook Clip Down designed for long range bait sandeel targeted for Big Monster but this fella eat the bait. Close up of the Queen Fish compare with 1.5litre of water bottle. Two different angle. The picture just like fishing in New Zealand . On that day it's was raining heavy like cat and dog but we also went and set up base camp at one of the shelter. We met two old timer on that day and chit chat about their fishing expedition and tips about big game surf fishing.That all folk tight line and screaming reels.

Flounder & Flounder

Rizan got this Flounder a.k.a. Ikan sebelah or Sisa nabi on his light tackle using 3 hook flapper rig bait dead prawn.

Me too got the big one Flounder on my surf set intended for big game but this fella took the bait sandeel a.k.a ikan pasir-pasir head i cut into half using Bomber rig.Tested the rig report card 10/10.

Rigs For Surf Fishing.

Pulley Rig Layout: This rig is excellent for fishing over rough ground for larger fishes and the hook length can easily modified with thicker nylon or wire when fishing for toothy critters such as spurdogs.

Single Hook Clip Down Rig Layout: This rig is designed for fishing at medium to long range over clean to semi-rough ground and can be used for various species including Cod, Coalfish, Pollack, Dogfish, Thornback Rays and Wrasse.

Bomber Rig Layout: This rig is designed to maximize casting distance and will allow you to fish 2 hooks at long range. Its suitable for targetting whiting, codling, coalfish and dogfish.

3 Hook Flapper Rig :

This is a short distance rig and is probably the most used by UK match anglers. Especially suited to fishing clean ground at short range. The snoods can be positioned anywhere along the rig body.
