Hello Guys sharing another great catch this afternoon 16th Feb 2011 at my usual hunting ground . Went alone this time upon reaching the place I see the tide coming in very fast that was about 0900hrs. Without delay i set up my light tackle rod to get fresh small bait fish and also setup my two big arsenal rod Zziplex M4 . At about 0945hrs i got my second bait smelt fish aka sawchiam and my first bait fish sweetlip (lencam) quickly cast out my first rod pendulum style to the horizon where the big monster waiting . After that cast my second rod Zziplex M4 with sweetlip the first bait i caught earlier . While casting the second rod I noticed my first rod M4 bend vigorously but the drag alarm never sound maybe I forget to on the alarm due to excitement earlier . Quickly ran back to the first rod I gave a strike and the fight is on . I keep my cool as the monster ray run with my line first once it stop my turn to pump the monster back to the shore gain my mainline back and this tug of war lasted about 5-7 minutes . Once subdue I gaff the ray myself to the shore . Shock and disbelieve to see Leopard Ray 7kg and Arsenal used :Rod Zziplex M4 pair up with Diawa Grand Wave Z30 . Just sharing another great catch for the New Year 2011. This time 'Monster' Ray at Changi Car park 7 around noon on 8th Jan 2011 weighing about 15kg. Same thing happened like last big catch my working colleague Din aka Turbo videoman , Hidir , Mat and Din dropped by after lunch to witness the fight last about 15min and Hidir help to gaff the ray .Guys a big thank you for helping me to land this beautiful Monster Ray. Hello there just to share Freshwater Stingrays from Amazon. Inside this video got two type of Rays they are categories under P13 - Potamotrygon Leopoldi or by short Polka-Dot Ray and other one small in size color of black and white very strong is Black Diamond Ray. They can be found at Xingu and Fresco Rivers Basin , Amazon Brazil. I love this Rays until the extend i keep for my fish hobby and they usually feed on live feeder fish like goldfish , earthworm,bloodworm, ghost shrimps , tamban fish meat and squid. All my Leopoldi Rays are Captive Breed . ENJOY THE VIDEO !!!

The Improved Albright Knot

This Improved Albright Knot i using till now that caught 20kg Shovel Nose Shark aka Kemejan March 2010. The Knot that joined my shockleader Silstar 50lbs and mainline PLine 12lbs. Just to share this knot to fellow Surfcaster.1. Double one end of the leader to form a loop. Run the main line through the loop and begin wrapping around both legs of the loop, going up to the leader.
2. Make five wraps.3. Begin wrapping back down the leader, going around both legs of the leader and the previous main-line wraps.4. Complete five wraps back down the leader and pass the tag end through the loop, going out the same side it came in.5. Partially close the knot by pulling on all four strands of mono.6. As the knot begins to tighten, release both tags to pull only on the standing end of the line and leader

My Solo Adventure (a Re-Write History)

My Solo Adventure began like this: Its just like any other day. Started off my usual morning dropping off my beloved ones to work and school. Off i went to my usual hunting ground. In the name of "Never Give Up". I tried my very best this time or call it a day. After reaching the spot, as per normal i set up both my dear Zziplex M4 and light tackle for bait fish . This time round i'm in a "no hurry" position, just relaxed, feeling free n easy. After half an hour later of targeting bait fish, i score a Sand Whiting a.k.a. Pasir-pasir. Fortunately, i cast very far out to a distance estimated to be 80m+ using pendulum fishing techniques. I've had butterflies in my stomach lately and now i'm feelin' hungry, for the moment i grab my quick snack and fill this poor empty tummy. All of a sudden, @ 1215hrs, one of my reel alarm goes off loudly, i turned around and saw my Zziplex M4 bend down furiously, without any obstruction and hesitation and no looking back this time, i quickly ran to my rod, placed my gimbals belt ready and the great fight is ON! The Monster fish dashes through rapidly unstoppably like there's no tomorrow. The fish made desperate run to burst up my line. Its a one tough fighter afterall. Never to give up easily. I waited and pray and hoping the fish will eventually stop so that i could gain and retrieve back some of my line as its nearing empty spool. Immediately the fish stops and i desperately pulled the fish to account. The whole process run tooks me about 30 mins with the fish. Last but not least, the Monster fish emerged from the surface of the water not knowing and to my surprise, i was shocked and outburst to tears of joy and was very happy to see that it was a humongous remarkably rare Shoveled-nosed Shark (Rhinobatus productus) at the end of my line. It was not gaff but pulled out of the water by grabbing its tail. Thanks to the angler whom fished nearby me giving me a helping hand. By then i was so exhausted but feelin' "on Top of the World" waiting for this moment of truth for 2 and a half years at this hunting ground till today. Even at present now i'm typing to you my report, my left hand is still having the shakes and cramps from the stand off with the mighty Shark. Pictures below are for everyone to enjoy... Heehawed and thanks to TMZ , Apiz a.k.a. Mr. Peh Piao sacrificing their own lunch break and also to Bob Kemejan from Team Eeesssaaappp who did came down to witness the Monster fish helded captives. Wuahaha...!!!

This morning went with Abg Salleh to the same hide out but Rizan peh piao have to work. Abg Salleh give us the Ray of Hope after our last trip empty handed. He using Apollo rig bait rag worm aka sarong intended for some live bait fish but this Ray took the bait .

Syed from Team Padang Terbakar got this Giant Queen Fish at Car Park 6 yesterday weight around 15kg my estimation.

He using Penn Inxs2 Long Range pair up with Daiwa Sealine SHA30 Rig long snood with three way swivel and Bait sandeel aka ikan pasir pasir. Main line Sufix Synergy 20lbs with Shockleader Sufix Superior 50lbs.

Dozens of rods line at the beach all fire up waiting the big monster to pull.
Also pack with rods to our left .The story of Rizan Hat Trick began like this.He was beside me asking us to have our lunch and suddenly Herman shouted to Rizan his Rambo 16ft rod bend down slowly he quickly ran to his rod lock the drag and give a few good pumps.The monster sets to comes in but after a few second he can't wind anymore as his rod bend forward furiously and the monster take more line .The monster stopped Rizan turn to pull to gain more line at that time the monster start to dash to the right of the shore. Me and Herman quickly wind up the other rod on our right to let Rizan fight the monster while he was pumping to bring the monster in his line snapped everyone when blank and look at Rizan . He wind up the line to see what happen we noticed his rig snood 50lbs snapped due to improper crimping at the swivel.What a great loss by Rizan's using famous Pulley Rig and bait sandeel aka ikan pasir pasir.This year alone Rizan lost three big monster two at his Kampong of Heaven one way train and now at this Changi Car park6-7 line snapped.Lesson to learn never use long nose to crimp metal sleeve use correct crimping pliers for big game rig.

With the help of Amin and Izad caught the only ikan pasir-pasir a.ka. sandeel of the night by net casting. They asked me to use the bait as my gear is ready for Red October a.k.a Big Monster. But instead I landed this nice Grouper right after the tide turns down.Picture Izad and me with the catch of early morning.

Another Diamond Trevally was caught this morning 22th May 2009@1130hrs when tide going down.It was hot and sunny day mission to target big game but my same small rod got another hit of Diamond Trevally maybe dah rezeki for me Alamdulilah syukur rezeki hasil laut.Sometime i telling to myself to surf fishing for big game from shore must be alot of patience dun give up hope one day will come to hit the big one Insyaallah.Isa signing offff.....tight line and screaming reel.

On the 25th April 2009 i went fishing to the same place i usually surf fishing for big game. When alone that day it was hot and sunny so i told myself to buy 100g of live prawn to target Diamond Trevally a.k.a Chermin for my small rod. About 1330hrs when tide going down i saw my small rod bent like hell sprint to the rod pick up and gave a light strike i saw Chermin swimming from left to right for her life but after few minute subdue the fish to the shore. It was my first Chermin very happy that day and end result makan Sweet & Sour cooked by my wife Poweeeer!!!! Isa signing off tight line and screaming reel.

Its been awhile that Ive written something in this blog. Today im going to scribble a few words about Team Nelayan INC. The Team when on a boat trip last Saturday. What a fruitful trip it was! Below are a few pics for all fishing kakis to enjoy!

The Team was formed in the mid of 2006. Starting from jetty fishing to surfcasting. It is Mr Gensek who introduced us to this hobby.

We were actually hooked on tamban jigging at first especially at bedok jetty. From there we moved on slowly and get to know a lot people. People who willingly share their "secrets" to us.

Learning from Obek, Big Fish, Ah Kim, Rizan Of SSB, Apek Jepun, Man Koboi and a few more people along the way. Thank You All!!

Trip to South China Sea

It was a wet morning, meeting Apit as usual under his void deck. From there we move on to Republic of Singapore Yacht Club to meet the rest of Team Nelayan Inc.

And from there the adventure begins!

The smell of excitement fills the air as the rain started to drizzle and came to a complete stop. Nasi Lemak welcomed us for breakfast. All compliments from Pai.

Breakfast done, its time to board the Nelayana, one of the finest fishing vessel in Singapore.

I was half an hour late...reached at assembly area at around 1730hrs. Im supposed to be there at 1700hrs!! Upon reaching the assembly area i bought some bread and drinks to fill my stomach which is to last the whole night. Eagerness were written all over everyone's faces. Hmmmm......understandable.

Reached the spot...Isa quickly set up his 6 footer and managed to catch a whole bunch of pasir-pasir. Meanwhile Freako and Apit were busy doing netcasting also for baits. They also managed to land a few bait fishes especially the most sought after pasir-pasir.

Obek started a campfire which lasted till morning. The fire was used to BBQ the fishes caught. Yummy! Fresh seafood!! A flounder was grilled to perfection and tasted like BBQ stingray! I wished that we had caught more of this fish.

No biggies were landed but still the guys had a great time with their 8 and 9 footers. These rods landed the most fish especially selar papan or the guys would prefer to call it "selar dot com"! He he he he!!!!!....

A garoupa was landed by Salleh. It weigh to an almost 3 kg!! What a beauty it was!! The night was cold but was heated up by the flames of the campfire and also the company of the guys. Below are the pics......let them do the talking. TMZ signing off..Gooodnite!!

This time round we went to the Island again to try our luck on biggies but lady luck was'nt on our side. The weather was partly cloudy in the morning and we were greeted by a heavy downpour in the afternoon.

Wooo hooo!!! Its been a long time that i have not updated this blog!! Well..here it is.!

The spot: Changi Pantai Timur Tengah
Time: 1930hrs till Dawn
Date: 23 Nov 2007

The Surfcasters: TMZ, Isa, Azzari, Apit, Salleh, Indra, Pai and our good fren OBEK.

Reached the spot at around 2000hrs. Isa and Azzari were already there....too bad Naz Freako can't join us that night. Set up my Daiwa Sandstorm and paired it up with a Daiwa Sealine 30SHV.

Azzari landed the duri at around 12 am by using his special rig which he made it on the spot.

His reel gave out a short burst of rachet and before the fish could get away Azzari was there holding his rod, an Anyfish Anywhere......

It was a fun night overall...i did a little bit of netcasting...hhhmmm maybe i should get my own net? Yeah why not? Anyways, below are the pics..so enjoy guys!!!

Hang Loose Paradiz

One of the best places to surfcast is along the coast of Pasir Ris beach. Nelayan.Inc went to one of the beaches last week and this is what they got...a night of surfcasting fun plus a night of superb chilli'n..

The guys were in high spirits that night..morale were high, hopes were high too. We fished from 10pm till 5am in the morning. Isa managed to land this juvenile garoupa below. Look at him smiling. The fish was later released as it is too young to be brought home.

A lot of topics were discussed that night...from politics to transformers to psp and so on...etc. No one were asleep that night even with the coldness of the sea breeze....hhhhmmm strange.
Anyways, Pai landed this nice decent Gerut-Gerut in the midst of chit chatting.

The Island

Last week, some of the Team members went to the Island for a great time of surf fishing.
Isa, Freako, Indra and Anuar were the ones who were there.
The rest of the team can't make it as they have work commitments. Anyway here is the catch report from THE ISLAND.
Told the weather there was freakin hot and later in the late afternoon there was a heavy downpour.

The Gears Used During The Trip

The story goes on as Isa's Daiwa Landcaster was pulled by a monster and dropped flat on the ground. His Daiwa Sealine-X was screaming in pain while the main line was being pulled....
As swift as lightning Isa picked up his rod and gave it a good clean strike and the monster was hooked. Fighting slowly and steadily, " Stand by the Gaff" he shouted. He reeled In the monster inch by inch......Then suddenly to his dissapointment his main line give way when the the monster was about to be landed! "Alamak!!" he shouted in anger and dissapoinment. The boys stood still....doesnt want to believe that the monster has gotten away......Well guys, there will be another time!!

Objectives: To try out our new surfcasting outfits.

Hi peeps!! Welcome again to another update of Team Nelayan Inc! This time round we went to East Coast Park to try out our newly bought fishing gears. And most importantly to fish on that particular ground which NazFreako had selected earlier....mmmmhhhm.
Upon reaching, we set up our gears as quickly as possible, cause the tide is rising at 2.7metres!
Baits used were the most common, pumpuns, wat-wat and kelong sotong.

Hi guys!! Welcome again to our humble site.....The team went to Horsburg for deep water fishing....and what a boat that was!! Yes! We were on board the Nelayana!

I think that is the most luxurious fishing boat ever in singapore...with its comfortable cabin with 12 beds in it and fully airconditioned....

The team went to L6 for a night of chatting and fishing, not forgetting to discuss our future trip to Horsburg...
Reached there at about 11pm....Indra being the early bird was already there.The rest of the crew arrived later...
Baits used that night were pumpuns and kelong sotong...Indra bought the pumpuns and Freako bought the kelong sotong...
Juvenile fishes were caught and most of it were released....we were actually quite dissapointed that night as we were all waiting for the biggies...he he you guys should know what i mean.
But our dissapointment came to an end...GUess who visited us that nite???The one and only Rizan of Singapore Sea Brothers..
We chatted for a while...but he has to go as no one is looking after his rod...
Then after around 30mins he came back with his trusty digital camera.."Come take picture, take picture." and below is the end product.

It was a two day one night event..heard the boatman and the skipper are experienced fishermen.
Isa was the organiser and the trip went well....
The team did great with their jigging skills and not to mention their deep water technique.
All round the trip was a success...Well done guys!!

Custom Rod For Hazi Osprey

Wuhoo! Just completed Hazi's rod..so very tired. I think Hazi is going to be happy with his custom rod. I've put my heart and soul to it during the build up. Countless of sleepless nights, yawning every morning and the constant nagging of my wife...but its all worth every minute of painstaking butt cracking nights!

Tried My Abu!! It sucks!

hah ha.. tried my Abu reel and it sucks!!! to those who wanted to mod their Abu and dont know how to do it, my advice is to sent it to the experts....really!
As u guys know i 've mag my reel and removed the level wind.....after removing the level wind the cage looks like a ct cage...and the reel run a bit faster..
Tried the reel last friday...and it really suck!! what happen is that the spool gave out a loudclanking noise....like something stuck to the spool.!! and the worst part is it run like shit! slow and noisy!!
So pls pls pls i beg you guys dont attempt to do it yourself!!
Ive removed the magnet and and i am happy to remove it!!

HI again!!...well I've finished with the modifications on my ABU Six Star!!

I've installed a magnet and also removed the levelwind..only thing is that i've not change it to CT cage...maybe soon. Actually i heard from other anglers saying that you can control your reel better if you installed a magnet to prevent the spool from backlashed...I wanted to try..so that is why i've mag mine.

So far, i've not try to cast with the spool yet..maybe soon...and i will post the reviews..

NELAYAN.INC AT TUAS FOR NIGHT BOAT FISHING.

HI again and welcome....this is our latest catch report coming from tuas area...We went for night fishing on board Wak Jaafar excellent boat.Reached jurong river around 8pm and everybody was eager to load up the boat...we even forget about Ali.G and Hazi who is carrying one large cooler box of drinks!!Hazi got really angry but we manage to cool him down.....Reached the first spot at around 2130hrs......lower down our baits and waited.

The pic on the right is ISA....landed the stingray at around 0230hrs...that's one stubborn fish to fight..he was using a long snood bottom feeder rig with fresh squids as bait...look at that big smile!!

Welcome again to our humble site. Today i have not much to say....its been a very tiring day at work. And i was busy doing up my rod for the boat trip which the team had organized.

Nelayan INC.@ Pasir Ris Pond

Waiting as usual...getting sleepy actually..

Team Nelayan Inc were at Pasir Ris Pond on the 19 jan 2007.

I reach the destination at around 9pm, its quite late actually. I had

to send my kids to my mum's place first before reaching pasir ris.

Ali.G, Apit, Pal, Pai and Hazi were there early.

Upon reaching, i saw the guys happily fishing like nobody's business.

Set up my tackle and rig, using a floater and live prawns as bait. I quickly cast

my rod and waited patiently as usual. Suddenly i heard Pai shouting for Apit..

But unfortunately Apit was not around because he went to buy cigarette...

Without delay, Pai strikes Apit's rod and set the hook....

The sound of a screaming reel can be heard from a distance. The fish gave Pai a

hard fight. Pai gave all his best and landed the groupa on behalf of Apit.

The guys were shocked to see such a huge groupa on our local pond.

Meanwhile Apit came back from buying cigarette and was shocked to see the fish. All he could do was to wish he was there to fight the fish....
